Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton said show creator, Mark Schwahn harassed them

Sophia Bush talked about what it was like working for Mark Schwahn on Andy Cohen Live. She said when Schwahn physically harassed her she had a physical reaction.

“Yeah, look, my mom is a crazy Italian lady from New Jersey,” the actress said. “The first time Mark Schwahn grabbed my a** I hit him in front of six other producers and I hit him f*cking hard.”

The star said there were other inappropriate things he would do. “We knew about things he’d say to people, we knew about the late-night texts, we knew when he was super-obsessed with one girl on our show that he started trying to bang down her hotel room door in the middle of the night,” revealed Bush.

“She had to be moved, her rooms were moved. And then her boyfriend came and stayed with her the next month. It almost came to fisticuffs between the two of them.”

Hilarie Burton also opened up about his alleged harassment. She claimed he forced himself on her twice, would kiss her without warning, according to Variety. Jana Krama recently talked about what set was like for her.

The actress reflected on her time on the show with Bethany Joy Lenz, who played Haley James Scott, on her podcast, Whine Down With Jana Kramer. Kramer said she loved her character because she was “super fun and spunky.” However, she said it wasn’t easy being on the show.

“It was hard for us because I felt like when we came on the show, just being so honest, it was a very divided set,” Kramer said according to People. “I feel like everyone already kinda had their places and it was either, ‘You’re going to be on the A-team or the B-team?’” she explained. “It was just tricky.”

There was one person who she claimed was behind this. That would be Schwahn.

She said Schwahn created that environment

The cast of the show wasn’t one big happy family. Kramer said the divided set was created by Schwahn.

“I think our creator kinda created that environment, as well,” she said. The actress went on to say, “I don’t know what he’s doing now. But that was probably the hardest part about [being on the show].”

Schwahn was accused of sexual harassment by a writer named Audrey Wauchope who worked on One Tree Hill, according to Deadline. Although the set was divided Bush, Burton, and more people publicly supported her and talked about their own experiences. Schwahn was later fired from The Royals after the allegations.
