If there’s one Lou Bega biopic you watch this year, make it Jimmy Kimmel‘s spoof starring Tracy Morgan.
Morgan’s latest project is this sketch in which the comedian stars as the one-hit wonder behind “Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit of…).” Track the origins of this absurdly catchy song that was once on Now That’s What I Call Music! Vol. 44 with Britney Spears’ “Baby One More Time” and S Club 7’s “S Club Party.”
Kimmel even makes a surprise cameo as Lou’s “big time music manager,” who, in this scenario, comes up with the title for the track after “Mambo No. 1” through “Mambo No. 4” didn’t work out.
Delving inside the mind of Lou as he works out the lyrics, replacing “a little bit of Italian sausage sandwiches” with “a little bit of Monica,” is truly Oscar worthy.
“Wait until you hear Mambo No. 6,” Morgan’s Lou says. Of course, we all know what happened there.
