Anthony Bourdain’s final moments on ‘Parts Unknown’ are a dark look at his past

On the final Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, Bourdain traveled to New York’s lower east side.  Though much of the episode was focused on the music and art in the area in the 1970s and ’80s, some of the most interesting parts were when Bourdain, who was found dead in June of an apparent suicide, took us on a very strange trip down memory lane. Bourdain has talked openly about his past drug use, and  admitted on the show that the only reason he ever went to the lower east side was for the music and for heroin. The show opened with Bourdain talking about various “dope houses” in the area, and later he visited with a man who kept a scrapbook of old baggies with various names of whatever heroin was in them like DOA, Poison, and Toilet.” data-reactid=”28″ type=”text”>On the final Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, Bourdain traveled to New York’s lower east side.  Though much of the episode was focused on the music and art in the area in the 1970s and ’80s, some of the most interesting parts were when Bourdain, who was found dead in June of an apparent suicide, took us on a very strange trip down memory lane.
