Are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Already Causing Trouble in Wyoming? – Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West recently made headlines for purchasing a massive property in the state of Wyoming. While the family is still splitting their time between California, Wyoming, and some of their other vacation properties, West and Kardashian have already started to raise some eyebrows during their time at their new residence. But the controversial couple is ruffling some feathers in Wyoming.

Kanye West’s new Wyoming home is a real ‘monster’

In early September, it was reported that West had purchased a 9,000-acre ranch in the small town of Cody, Wyoming. While the exact amount that West paid for the property isn’t known, the ranch was listed for $14 million, offering some insight into what West shelled out to own a good chunk of Wyoming sunshine.

Cody is only fifty-two miles from Yellowstone National Park and is covered with wildlife, trees, and beautiful scenery. Reportedly, the property is full of wilderness charm, with lakes full of “monster trout,” several cabins, an events center, a restaurant, and multiple barns and horse corrals.

The West-Kardashian family isn’t exactly new to the state, and have loved the area for a long time. In a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon, Kardashian opened up about their move, stating that they “love” Wyoming, saying that it’s an amazing place and that West’s “dream and vision” is to move there. West will reportedly be using his new estate as a hideaway, working on his new album and continuing to develop his business empire.

Will the West family move to Wyoming full-time?

Even Kardashian loves spending time in Wyoming, during her interview with Fallon she admitted that for now at least, she won’t be living there full-time. She stated that she envisions spending summers there as well as weekends. So it seems like, for now, they won’t be completely stepping away from the spotlight in California.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been problematic neighbors

West and Kardashian have a long history of real estate renovations and major projects. Still, their home improvements haven’t always been well-received. Some of their California neighbors have reportedly been frustrated in the past with what has been referred to as the West family’s “neverending remodel.”

In addition, one of West’s new projects, affordable housing units for those less fortunate, has been causing a stir by violating the rules of construction by not having the proper permits in place to begin building his structures. As a result, West’s housing project is on indefinite hold.

Perhaps as a result of West and Kardashian’s past issues, some Cody residents were not thrilled when news broke that the couple had purchased property there. Reportedly, residents of the quiet area are concerned that the media attention could cause disruption in the peaceful community and want, above all else, to maintain their privacy.

Did Kim Kardashian and Kanye West break the law in Wyoming?

In late September, Kardashian posted a video on social media that showed her and West riding an ATV across the fields of their Wyoming property, following behind a group of antelope. Kardashian’s voice can be heard on the video telling West that he was “scaring” the antelope, and ultimately, the couple received some backlash for the video.

Wildlife harassment is illegal in the state of Wyoming and, according to TMZ, authorities paid a visit to Kardashian and West to make sure that they thoroughly understand the laws of the state. In the process, authorities determined that the couple meant no harm and merely came across the antelope while on a peaceful joyride.

Hopefully, this incident isn’t a sign of things to come and is just a result of Kardashian and West learning the ropes in a new state.
