Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle More Popular Than Prince William and Kate Middleton? – The Cheat Sheet

When it comes to the royal family, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle spark some serious fascination. From their relationships with each other to their nicknames for each other to the food they eat and how early they workout in the morning, fans want to know everything and anything about them.

Up until recently, the royal fab four was (for the most part) thought of as a unit. But, since splitting their royal households and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s move to the countryside, the Cambridges and Sussexes seem more divided than ever — especially now that some royal fans believe the royal family is allowing Meghan Markle to take the hit with negative press to keep Prince William’s alleged affair under wraps and are taking the Duchess of Sussex’s side.

Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle more popular than Prince William and Kate Middleton? We find out, ahead.

Who is more popular? Prince William and Kate Middleton or Prince Harry and Meghan Markle?

It’s no secret that Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle are four of the most important members of the royal family. Between Prince William’s place in line to the British throne and Prince Harry’s involvement in the family business, the brothers and their wives are involved in many important decisions, ceremonies, and engagements.

That said, recent changes to the royal family — along with some royal rumors — have pinned the two couples against each other, causing some fans to potentially take sides. Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle more popular than their brother and sister-in-law? Not exactly. However, they are just as popular and loved.

Their own royal household

If Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s involvement in the royal family didn’t carry enough weight, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and other senior members of the family likely would not have agreed to create a separate court for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. However, Her Majesty and the rest of the royal family understands the enormity of their roles in the world and knows that the people love them and their efforts to make some radical changes to the royal family.

They broke a social media record

In addition to creating their own royal household, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also created their own Instagram account to better connect with fans about the things that matter to them. While their communications team could have used the royal family’s more general account, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex likely felt it was more important to personally connect with the public. And boy were they right!

After announcing their new Instagram account, @sussexroyal, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex broke a world record for attracting one million followers in under six hours. The couple now has 5.2 million followers and Prince William and Kate Middleton’s account, @kensingtonroyal have just under eight million.

They make their own rules

Many love Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for the royal rebels they are. However, for them, it’s not entirely about breaking the rules and more about carving out their own path from within the monarchy. Prince Harry knows he is never going to be king, which means the rules are a little more relaxed in his situation.

If the roles were reversed, Prince William and Kate Middleton would likely bend the rules more and find their own lives from within the royal family. But, given his future role in the monarchy, Prince William and his family have to abide by certain traditions.
