
Actor Bruce Willis is shooting a movie in Cincinnati — again.”Open Source” began filming in the Queen City on Monday, officials with Film Cincinnati said.The film stars Willis, along with Jessie Metcalf (“Desperate Housewives” and “John Tucker Must Die”), Natalie Eva Marie and Lala Kent.The film is being directed by Matt Eskandari and produced by Emmet Furla.Willis plays the role of Donovan Chalmers, a billionaire tech CEO, who hires several mercenaries to protect his work. But his daughter is kidnapped by a terrorist group, who is after the technology he creates.This is the production company’s sixth film in Cincinnati and producers say they are enthusiastic to return for more.”We love shooting in Cincinnati,” said producer Randall Emmett. “The city is so welcoming and the film office is one of the best in the country.”The motion picture industry had an economic impact of nearly $80 million in the Greater Cincinnati area in 2017 and 2018, the latest years for which figures are available, according to a study by the University of Cincinnati Economics Center.Willis is no stranger to Cincinnati, having filmed a handful of movies in the Queen City over the course of several years. Most recently, Willis filmed “10 Minutes Gone” and “Reprisal” across the city.
