Fans Hope Meghan Markle Will Support US Baseball By Attending the First-Ever London Series This Weekend – The Cheat Sheet

Meghan Markle has been on maternity leave for several months. She and husband Prince Harry welcomed their first child, Archie Harrison, in early May. Meghan made an appearance with the new baby two days later, then stayed out of the spotlight for a while until Trooping the Colour at the beginning of June. Some suspect Meghan will turn out for Wimbledon, which she attended last year with Kate Middleton, to support Serena Williams. But people also hope Meghan will make an appearance at the first-ever London Series, featuring the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, to support her native country.

Meghan has kept a low profile since Archie’s birth

Once Meghan revealed her son to the world alongside Prince Harry, she continued to spend her maternity leave far away from the spotlight. Her mother, Doria Ragland, reportedly flew in from California to help her daughter care for the new baby. Prince Harry did not take much parental leave; only one day after introducing Archie to the world, the prince was back on the work grind and has been traveling all over ever since. Meghan did make one appearance at Trooping the Colour (also known as the queen’s birthday celebration) about a month after her first appearance with Archie. And some suspect she will stand alongside Kate Middleton once more at Wimbledon, which starts next week, to not only make a royal appearance but also support her best friend, Serena Williams.

The Yankees and Red Sox will face off in Europe’s first-ever MLB games

This year, something different is happening in the United Kingdom. The U.K. and U.S. are coming together to host the first-ever London Series, which will bring live Major League Baseball games to the U.K. Other sports, such as football and soccer, have gone over to Europe on several occasions to play, but this is the first time the MLB is following suit. The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, two well-known rivals, will take their talents to London and face off in two games this weekend.

There have been rumors that Mookie Betts, who currently plays for the Red Sox, is actually a distant relative of the Duchess’. Supposedly, the two have ancestors who crossed paths nearly 150 years ago. While it hasn’t been proven that they are related, there are a lot of signs pointing to the two being distant relatives.

Americans hope Meghan will support the U.S. — and there are rumors other royals might attend

Americans are hoping Meghan will turn out for the big baseball event. After all, she is an American, and she’s spent a lot of time in New York (and might possibly have a relative on the opposing team). There have also been rumors that Prince Harry might throw out the first pitch at the game. The royals attending the event would be a good way for both countries to support each other. Though there are reportedly some tensions between Meghan, Prince Harry, and President Trump, it wouldn’t surprise anyone if Meghan and her husband still wanted to support the U.S.
