ADVISORY ON HURRICANE DORIAN. STEWART: TONY MAINOLFI AT ERIC BURRIS JOINING US NOW. TONY: TWO TAKEAWAYS RIGHT NOW. HAVE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO DIGEST THE EXTENT OF THE WATCHES AND WARNINGS, BUT WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE CONE, YOU LOOK AT BREVARD COUNTY, IT IS OUT OF THE CONE. HURRICANE FORCE WINDS ARE GOING TO BE OUTSIDE OF THAT CONE. ERIC: TROPICAL STORM AND HURRICANE FORCE WINDS EXTEND FROM THE CENTER, BUT THE CONE IS A PRESET THING. IT IS NOT LIKE THEY CAN ADJUST IT BASED ON TIME. EVEN THOUGH WE ARE NOT IN THE CONE, THERE IS A SLIM POSSIBILITY, BUT STILL A POSSIBILITY, WHICH IS WHY WE HAVE TO WATCH IT CLOSELY. STEWART: THAT’S WHY WE ARE SHOWING THE WIND RADII. THERE IS YOUR TAKEAWAY. STILL WORKING ON THE WATCHES AND WARNINGS. SOMETIMES THERE IS A LAG IN THE CONE CHANGE AND THE COUNTY BY COUNTY WARNINGS BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO COORDINATE WITH THE WEATHER SERVICE IN MELBOURNE, JACKSONVILLE, TAMPA BAY. MOVING TO THE WEST, DRIFTING OR NEARLY STATIONARY IS THE WORDING. WITH TIME, THIS IS GOING TO BE PULLING OFF TO THE WEST-NORTHWEST, GOING BY CENTRAL FLORIDA AS A MAJOR HURRICANE, VERY LARGE WINFIELD. THE EXTENT OF THE WINDS WILL BE OUTSIDE THIS CONE, SO EVEN THOUGH INLAND VOLUSIA COUNTY AND MOST OF BREVARD COUNTY IS OUT, THAT DOESN’T MEAN YOU ARE SCOT-FREE. IT IS LOOKING BETTER THAT THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL STAY OFFSHORE, BUT WE STILL NEED TO WATCH THE EXTENT OF THE WINDS. THERE IS DEFINITIVELY ANOTHER WOBBLE. THERE IS REPORT. IF YOU LOOK AT THE EYE, THE WOBBLE IS TOWARDS THE NORTH AND EAST, PROBABLY TEMPORARY, BUT SOMETHING WE WILL WATCH. THE OTHER THING CATCHING MY EYE, LOOK AT THE WESTERN PERIPHERY OF THE LOOP. YOU CAN ALMOST SEE A LITTLE BIT OF DRY AIR OR A PUSH AGAINST THIS PARTICULAR WESTERN EDGE. THAT MAY BE THE FEATURE THAT’S DROPPING IN, IT MAY BE STARTING TO GET IN OR HAVE AN INFLUENCE ON DORIAN AS WE GO DEEPER INTO THE EVENING. STILL A VERY WELL-DEFINED EYE, PLENTY OF FEEDER BANDS, AND IMPACTING BREVARD COUNTY AND POINTS TO SOUTH. WE WILL TOUCH ON THAT. LOOK AT ALL THE COMPUTER MODELS, VERY CONSISTENT IN TAKING THAT BEND TOWARDS THE NORTH AND GRADUALLY TOWARDS THE NORTH AND EAST. LET’S LOOK AT THE CHANCE FOR TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS. ALONG THE COAST, VERY HIGH. TUESDAY AFTERNOON, BACK TOWARDS THE INTERIOR, UP I-4, ABOUT A 10% TO 20% CHANCE OF TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS. NOTICE THE EXTENT OF THE WIND BEGAN TO BULGE ALONG THE COAST AND TOWARDS MIDNIGHT ON THURSDAY, THE CORE OF THE STRONGEST WINDS LIFTING NORTH AND EAST. ERIC: THE QUESTION IS AS WE LOOK TO LONG-RANGE THINGS, HOW DOES THIS COMPARE? WHEN WE LOOK IN THE HISTORY BOOKS, WE GET AN IDEA. IF YOU LIVED HERE A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, I WANT TO GET YOU THE LATEST HURRICANE CONE, TONY, EXACTLY WHAT YOU SAID. LET’S COMPARE THIS TO MATTHEW FROM 2016 AND FLOYD FROM 1999. FLOYD GAVE US A GOOD SCARE, BUT SPARED US MOST OF THE IMPACTS. MATTHEW IN THE BLUE GOT CLOSE ENOUGH THAT IMPACTS WERE FELT. THE BRAND-NEW CONE KEEPS THE STORM SYSTEM A LITTLE FURTHER OUT THAN MATTHEW. WE WILL HAVE TO SEE EXACTLY WHAT PLAYS OUT, BUT THERE IS SOME CAUTIOUS OPTIMISM. HERE IS LUNCH TIME TOMORROW. ALREADY BUILDING INTO TROPICAL STORM FORCE LENS, ESPECIALLY IN THESE FEEDER BANDS. TUESDAY EVENING AS THE CORE OF THE STORM SYSTEM PASSES OFF THE SHORELINE, WE GET WIND GUSTS INTO THE HURRICANE FORCE, ESPECIALLY ON BARRIER ISLANDS, COCOA BEACH OUT TO MERRITT ISLAND. HEAVIER BANDS ARE GOING TO RECONFIGURE WINDS INTO THE 65 TO 70 RANGE. BY NOON WEDNESDAY, THE WORST OF THE WEATHER MOVES AWAY. BREVARD COUNTY, YOU ARE UNDER A HURRICANE WARNING BECAUSE HURRICANE CONDITIONS ARE LIKELY, ESPECIALLY ON BEACHSIDE CONDITIONS. ORANGE COUNTY, SEMINOLE COUNTY, OSCEOLA COUNTY. TROPICAL STORM WARNING BECAUSE TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS CANNOT BE RULED OUT. MARION COUNTY, BECAUSE YOU ARE FURTHER AWAY, TROPICAL STORM WARNINGS NOT ISSUED, BUT CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE AS THESE FEEDER BANDS MOVE THROUGH. IT IS SOMETHING WE ARE GOING TO BE WATCHING CLOSELY OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS. STEWART: THE LATEST INFORMATION DOES HAVE HURRICANE WARNINGS ALL THE WAY UP TO — BEACH, FLORIDA, SO FLA
