Jordan Peele dressed as Jack Nicholson in The Shining on Us press tour

Jordan Peele has been using the Us press tour — and his attire — to pay respect to some of his favorite horror movies. For his appearance on Late Night with Seth Myers, the Oscar-winning writer-director referenced the Tony Todd-starring film Candyman (a sequel to which Peele is co-writing) by sporting a bee pin. On another occasion, he wore a striped scarf colored terrifyingly similar to that of the sweater worn by A Nightmare on Elm Street villain Freddy Krueger.

Peele’s most impressive sartorial shout-out is also the one which was easiest to miss, dressing as Jack Nicholson’s unhinged character Jack Torrance in Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 horror classic The Shining. When a Twitter user noted the similarity, Peele confirmed his intent with a retweet and the Shining-referencing message, “All work and no play….”

You can see images of Peele getting out the good word below and the trailer for Us, above.
