After a self-isolating Tisdale shared a TikTok video of herself dancing to the classic High School Musical tune “We’re All in This Together” on Monday, Hudgens used the video-sharing app to insert herself into the clip so she could dance alongside her costar from the 2006 Disney Channel movie.
While channeling their characters Sharpay Evans and Gabriella Montez, Tisdale and Hudgens danced and lip-synched to the heartwarming track originally performed by the whole cast (also including Zac Efron, Lucas Grabeel, and Corbin Bleu) at the end of the beloved film.
“Well. It’s come to this. Lol @ashleytisdale maybe I start getting into tik tok?” Hudgens captioned her version of the video, which also served as her announcement that she’d joined TikTok.
“If you need to work out while on #selfquarantine try this,” Tisdale previously wrote of the original clip on Twitter. “Hopefully this will brighten your day a little!”
Tisdale’s initial tweet racked up more than 67,000 likes since its original posting, while it has garnered over 1.4 million likes on TiKTok.
Since people are quarantined around the world to prevent the spread of COVID-19, many celebrities like Tisdale have been trying to boost public morale through social media. The Politician star Ben Platt announced he will be hosting a “virtual dance party” on Tuesday, while Arrow’s Stephen Amell revealed that he’s planning to go live on Instagram every day starting tomorrow as he’s “missing the opportunity to interact with other people.”
Also on Monday, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin performed live for his fans on Instagram from the comfort of his own home, which spurred John Legend to join the #TogetherAtHome initiative. “I’ll be doing one tomorrow at 1pm Pacific time. See you soon. We’ll try to get through this together!” the musician wrote on Twitter.
