Saturday Night Live veteran Eddie Murphy returns to the late-night sketch comedy stage at 30 Rock for the first time in more than 3 decades this weekend and he’s already teasing some of the sketches fans may see this weekend, including some of his classic characters.

During an interview with Today‘s Al Roker on Thursday, Murphy shared that the whole experience is “kind of surreal” and that it “feels kind of dreamy,” adding that all his kids have flown in so they can watch it live. After reminiscing about his previous experiences on the late-night sketch show, Murphy teased what might serve for comedic fodder this time around. “We’re talking about a Gumby thing, we’re talking about a Buckwheat thing, and I told you a Bill Cosby thing maybe, it’ll be very funny,” he told Roker. “I don’t know if he would think it was funny…I’m down for whatever, as long as it’s really really funny.”

This Saturday, Dec. 21, will mark the comedian’s first time hosting SNL in 35 years. Since his debut on the show back in 1980, he has served as host two times, including once while he was still a cast member in 1982 and again in 1984 just 6 months after he left the show’s cast. Now, with his movie Dolemite Is My Name on Netflix and multiple projects on the horizon, including a Coming 2 America, Murphy is making his long-awaited comeback in season 45. Lizzoone of EW’s 2019 Entertainers of the Year — is also appearing on Murphy’s episode as musical guest.

Watch the clip above and tune in Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC to see Murphy’s SNL return.
