Masked singer Supergirl’s Jeremy Jordan to star in Broadway’s Waitress

Masked singer

Jeremy Jordan is getting another slice of Broadway action!

The producers of Waitress announced Monday that the Tony nominee will take over the role of Dr. Pomatter on April 8, performing opposite Shoshana Bean as Jenna in the musical. He replaces Joey McIntyre, who will play his final performance on April 7.

Jordan most recently starred opposite Kerry Washington in Broadway’s American Son, before that he had stage stints in Newsies, Bonnie & Clyde, West Side Story, and Rock of Ages, and TV roles in Supergirl, Smash, The Flash, and Law and Order: SVU. He also starred opposite Anna Kendrick in the movie adaptation of the musical The Last 5 Years back in 2014.

He shared his excitement over the casting on Twitter on Monday.

Waitress tells the story of Jenna, a top pie maker in a small town, who winds up baking her way out of her loveless marriage when a contest in a nearby county and the new doctor in town offer her a chance at a new life.

Tickets are available now.
