As the forecast for Hurricane Dorian shifted further off Florida’s east coast, Orlando International Airport will remain open on Monday, according to a statement.
Airport officials previously said OIA would close at 2 a.m. Monday. Instead it will remain open and officials will keep an eye on the storm.
“Orlando International Airport will continue normal operations on Monday,” the airport said in a statement. “The previous decision to cease flights was made after careful consideration and out of an abundance of caution for the safety and security of the traveling public and airport employees.”
Officials said the airport’s Emergency Operations Center will continue to monitor the storm and determine if whether any closures are necessary at a later time.
Passengers should contact their airline directly to find out about flight information.
