‘The Bachelor’: Did Colton Underwood Give Cassie Randolph Coronavirus? – Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Former Bachelor Colton Underwood has been making the news for very different reasons lately. Instead of the usual talk about roses and being here for the right reasons, Underwood took to Instagram to announce that he tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). Before his test came back, Underwood had been staying with his girlfriend Cassie Randolph and her family in Huntington Beach, California. As coronavirus is highly contagious, it’s only fair to wonder whether Underwood gave the virus to Randolph.

Colton announces that he has coronavirus

On Mar. 20, Underwood took to Instagram to notify fans that he had the virus.

“I want to let you guys know: I’m 28, I consider myself pretty healthy, I work out regularly, I eat healthy, and I became symptomatic a few days ago, got my test results back today, and they are positive,” he said in the video. He went on to say how hard it has been doing everyday tasks with the virus. “It’s been kicking my ass, just to put it pretty bluntly.”

“The reason I’m sharing this is not to cause fear or panic, but to hopefully encourage you guys to stay home, do your part, take care of yourselves, take care of one another,” he said. “I just want to encourage everybody to stay at home. Stay in your house and do your part and take care of one another.”

He captioned the video with another plea to his fans to self-isolate themselves.

“For anyone out there that is hesitant to self-quarantine… please do yourself and your loved ones a favor and stay home,” he wrote. “We will all beat this and come out stronger on the other side. I’ll keep you posted, Love y’all.”

How has Colton Underwood been doing since getting coronavirus?

Since testing positive, Underwood has been trying to manage his symptoms.

“I’ll be fine,” he said on Chris Harrison’s Instagram Live show, Group Date. “I’m lucky enough to have it under control for the most part.”

For him, having shortness of breath was the most challenging part of the illness.

“Other than that, for me, the fever was gone within two days, but I’ve been taking Tylenol and staying on that,” he said.

But he is thankful to be with the Randolph family during this time.

“I would say if I wouldn’t be here with the Randolphs, with Cassie and her family, I wouldn’t be good,” the former Bachelor said. “Even here at times it gets challenging and you feel sort of lonely. But they’ve been amazing and supporting, we’re all in this together and that’s not only us as a family, us a nation and as a world.”

“I think we just need to remember we need to stick together through this. Try not to isolate people or make them feel guilty for having something,” he continued.

Did Colton Underwood give Cassie Randolph coronavirus?

Underwood and Randolph had been practicing social distancing for days before Underwood tested positive for the virus. But, they had obviously been hanging out with each other quite often. Just days before he announced his results, Underwood posted a video of himself and Randolph sitting very close together and playing Uno with one another.

Underwood doesn’t know when he contracted the virus.

“Who knows how I got it, where I got it, when I got it,” he told Harrison. No one knows.”

So, he could have passed it on to Randolph unknowingly. Since his diagnosis, Underwood has been isolated on the third floor of the Randolph family home.

“We’re here with my family,” Randolph said in an update on her Instagram stories. “We’ve been doing the social distancing and been quarantining ourselves for the past week now. Now we all can’t leave the house. We’re trying to one, stay positive, two, take a lot of vitamins, and get a lot of sleep.”

She does visit Underwood to bring him food, but takes precautions every time.

“I disinfect myself every time I leave him,” she said.
