Prince Harry definitely has a calm presence

While Prince Harry has displayed his ease with children on
many occasions, it’s this blip of an interaction with a small dog that has
people talking.

During a visit with students from St. Vincent’s Catholic
Primary School in Acton, where he helped them plant saplings in the school’s
outdoor nature area, Prince Harry was welcomed by the headteacher’s dog,
Winnie.

A video shows the cute moment when Prince Harry bends down to give the dog a pat and Winnie gets quite excited to meet the prince. She gets wiggly while a student holds the leash, putting a paw on Harry as he pets her. Winnie wags excitedly but before she can get too jumpy, he puts a finger to his mouth to give her a shush — and she sits nicely to receive another pet.

Prince Harry is a dog whisperer!

Could Prince Harry’s ability to calm work with a baby?

Prince Harry certainly has shown that he’s a patient and calming person and this small moment with a dog could be a glimpse into the prince’s skills as a father.

Will he be able to soothe a fussy baby in the same way that
he put Winnie at ease? That remains to be seen, of course, but he definitely
can bring that magic touch to fatherhood.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are already parents to pups

Owning pets is often good practice for parenthood and Meghan Markle had two rescue dogs before her marriage, one of which, Guy, moved with her to London. Harry and Meghan got another dog together, though the name has never been revealed.

During a January visit to the animal charity Mayhew, the Duchess of Sussex held one of the dogs available for adoption, but noted at the time, “We can’t take another dog before the baby as our hands are too full!”

CEO Caroline Yates explained at the time: “She has got dogs and they are an important part of her life and the family. They have the two dogs already and with the baby on the way, it might be a bit much that’s happening!”

Prince Harry had a lovely greeting

During his visit, in which Prince Harry planted a wild
cherry sapling to recognize the achievements of the QCC and the Woodland Trust
charity in providing 74,000 trees across the U.K, he was also greeted with
sweet signs made by the students.

One message on a flag read: “Good luck with your baby.” He asked one of the children, “How long did it take you to make?,” then joked, “What, five minutes? Wow!”

He was also gifted a baby onesie during the visit — playfully shaking the box to listen if it made a sound.
