
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have had a romance similar to something we’ve only seen in fairytales. The pair met in the summer of 2016 and were able to keep their relationship under the radar for many months until the world finally figured out they were paired. Still–once their romance was made public, the duo was happy to share their love with the public, PDA and all.
Nearly three years after they first met, we now know that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first date was a blind date set up by their mutual friend. Markle told BBC, “We met for a drink and then I think very quickly into that we said, ‘Well what are we doing tomorrow? Markle explained, “It was really one of the first things we connected on, it was one of the first things we started talking about when we met was just the different things that we wanted to do in the world and how passionate we were about seeing change.”
How did Prince Harry propose to Meghan Markle?
In late November 2017, the Markle and Prince Harry announced their engagement. However, they had gotten engaged weeks before, during a cozy and romantic night in.
During an interview with BBC’s Mishal Husain, the pair revealed the adorable details about their romantic evening. Markle, who loves cooking, was busy roasting a chicken on that fateful evening. Though she and Prince Harry had discussed marriage before, the prince managed to catch his love by surprise.
Markle remembered, “It was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got down on one knee. As a matter of fact, I could barely let you finish proposing. I said, “Can I say yes now?” The prince continued, “There were hugs, and I had the ring in my finger. I was like, “Can I give you the ring?” She goes, “Oh, yes! The ring!” It was a really nice moment. It was just the two of us, and I think I managed to catch her by surprise as well.” The pair wed May 19, 2018.
