It’s Emmys season, which means reliving a year’s worth of spectacular television. In December 2018, Amazon Prime dropped the second season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Naturally, fans flocked to the streaming platform to catch up with Miriam “Midge” Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) and her not-so-perfect life of comedy in New York City. Now, as the drama gears up for the big award show, viewers have been wondering when Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3 will be on Amazon. Luckily, the premiere date is coming soon, and fans won’t have to wait much longer.
‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Season 3 release date
On Aug. 19, Amazon Prime Video unveiled the official teaser trailer for Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3. The promo showed fans brief clips featuring fast lines trademarked by creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. It also showed fans This Is Us actor, Sterling K. Brown, will be making a special guest appearance in the third season.
Nevertheless, the most important detail was shared at the end. As it turns out, the trailer revealed the season 3 release date in plain white letters. So the third season premiere of Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will air on Friday, Dec. 6.
What time will Amazon original series be added to stream?

Sadly, streaming websites like Amazon, Hulu, and Netflix don’t have the same release schedule when it comes to their original content. While Netflix typically adds new shows and movies at midnight on Pacific time, Amazon usually debuts content Eastern time.
Thus, you can probably expect all eight episodes of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3 to be on Amazon by 3 a.m. ET.
What to expect when ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ returns for season 3
The cast and crew of Marvelous Mrs. Maisel have been busy filming the Amazon original series in New York City for the past few months. That said, the show’s team has already teased what’s to come when the season drops on Dec. 6. In an interview with The Wrap, Tony Shalhoub, who plays Abe Weissman, revealed the third season will continue where season 2 ended.
“Season 3 builds so beautifully on where we left off in season 2,” the actor shared. “All of Midge’s changes that she’s going through, all of the choices that she’s making, are having a sort of a broad sweeping impact on all of the rest of us — certainly on Rose and on Abe, and their lives and their relationship to each other.”
Shalhoub then announced both Susie (Alex Borstein) and Joel (Michael Zegen) also have new challenges ahead. “Everything is in a state of upheaval now,” Shalhoub said. “Even Susie’s life takes a little bit of twist to that, and Joel’s path veers off in another direction. So the impact of her choices — there’s that ripple effect, and we’re all kind of heading into uncharted territory.”
Midge is going on tour
Aside from the seamless transition from season 2 to season 3, it seems part of the new season will involve Midge on tour. When speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Shalhoub explained the cast was headed to Miami to film in June.
“I think I’ve heard that we’re going to Miami in June. That’s all I know,” he told the publication. “I don’t know what that [entails]. It’s about [Midge’s] tour, but that’s all I got.”
Brown talks about his guest-starring role in season 3
Following the trailer release, fans were hyped up about Brown’s involvement in the new season. Since then, the This Is Us actor opened up about working on Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
“The show is done at such an incredibly high level,” Brown told ET. “It’s so funny, and it’s so full of heart. It’s so specific. Like, I love the specificity of the world, and I would love to step in that. The Palladinos are so clear in what they’re doing. You know, that’s the type of people you want to work with.”
More recently, Brown teased his character in the upcoming season. “He’s black, which I think is really cool,” he said. “Maisel doesn’t tend to get black that often, but when Brown shows up, it gets real Afro-American, which makes me happy.”
Whether you’re looking forward to Brown’s guest spot in Amazon’s Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3 or you’re just ready to dive back into Midge’s messy life, don’t fret. The series comes back sooner than you think.
