Questions about Lady Gaga’s musical abilities probably stopped coming the first time anyone heard her sing. For those who like to keep score, she’s already nailed down six Grammys on 24 nominations at the age of 32.
But that’s not the only hardware she has in the trophy case. In 2016, Gaga won a Golden Globe for her acting performance in American Horror Story. While no one batted an eye when she landed another Globe for her song “Shallow” earlier this year, Gaga’s win over seasoned actresses definitely raised a few brows.
Clearly, Bradley Cooper was among those watching closely. After her starring role in Cooper’s A Star Is Born (2018), Gaga will hope to get the top honor in her “fallback” career: the Best Actress Oscar. As Academy voters weigh the merits of her performance versus those by Glenn Close, Olivia Colman, and others, we’ve been wondering whether she has a new acting project in mind.
Gaga’s ‘greatest dream’ was to be an actor.

Following her Best Actress win at the Critics’ Choice Awards (shared with Close), Lady Gaga opened up about the profession. She told reporters backstage that she was close to speechless because it had always been her “greatest dream to be an actor.” Having shared the honor with Close minutes before, many would say that dream’s come true.
But fans want to know what’s next for Gaga on the big (or small) screen. While she didn’t offer any specifics, Vogue reported she didn’t sound ambivalent about it. “I will definitely continue acting,” she said. “I loved acting on American Horror Story as the countess for Ryan Murphy, and I loved acting in A Star Is Born for Bradley Cooper.”
That quick summary of her brief, impressive career led her to acknowledge her blessings as far as her projects were concerned. “I am a bit spoiled,” she said, referring to Cooper and Murphy. “I’ve [worked with] some fantastic directors and fantastic visionaries.”
What about another film with Cooper?

The obvious question — whether she and Cooper have plans to make another film — received a dodge on Gaga’s part after the Critics’ Choice Awards. She said any plans they may (or may not) have were “going to remain a secret” for the time being. Yet she acknowledged they had discussed the possibility.
“We talk about future films for me, he gives me advice,” she said, according to Vogue. Considering the type of rapport the two established while making A Star Is Born, it certainly seems like a matter of time before they tackle another project together. “I will always be supportive of him in whatever way he chooses to go, and I feel the same way from him,” Gaga said.
A big question is whether she will find a role that allows her to soar (and sing) like her part in A Star Is Born did. But even in her brief acting career, it’s clear she’s versatile enough to make plenty of characters work. We’ll just have to wait until she signs her next movie deal.
