It’s finally happened! After months of construction and feeling cramped in their 2-bedroom flat at Kensington Palace — Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle have officially moved out of London into their 10-bedroom estate, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. Though the royal couple was due to move to Frogmore weeks ago –they were waiting for all of the building to be finalized.
Thankfully, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have settled in before the arrival of Baby Sussex who is set to make his or her grand debut any day now. Now that Markle and Prince Harry have more room to spread out, they can have a social life away from the fishbowl that is London and Kensington Palace.
Will Meghan Markle and Prince Harry host parties at Frogmore Cottage?
Now that the Sussexes have moved into Frogmore Cottage–they are overseeing a few last minute touches as Markle enjoys her maternity leave. According to People, the royal couple is just waiting for the bookcases to be built into alcoves. Also, the final bits are being put on the custom kitchen and dining room.
A royal insider told People, “[Prince Harry] plans to some entertaining, including hunting parties. He likes having his friends around him — and there is a [shooting ground] outside his doorstep.” Though Markle isn’t a fan of hunting, she knows that it’s something the prince enjoys. During the Christmas season, the prince went on the annual hunt with his family at Queen Elizabeth‘s Sandringham estate.
Will Meghan Markle host a second baby shower at Frogmore Cottage?
Though she had an NYC baby shower with some of her closest American friends in Feb. 2019 –Markle also planned on having a second more intimate shower with her mother, Doria Ragland
According to Daily Mail –Markle will now be hosting her shower at Buckingham Palace. Baby shower 2.0 is expected to be “a handful of Meghan’s most intimate friends. Doria is coming to a baby shower here. It will be a small gathering of five or six people.” We wonder if Queen Elizabeth is invited.
Markle’s longtime friend and makeup artist Daniel Martin has said that everyone is just eager to head to Frogmore when the baby arrives. He told People, “The next plan is all of us being there for both of them when the baby comes. That baby is going to be loved by all of us.”
Inside Frogmore Cottage
Frogmore Cottage will be perfect for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. In addition to the 10-bedrooms –one which will be occupied by Markle’s mom Doria Ragland, the home also has a yoga studio, gym, and of course, Baby Sussex’s nursery. Entertainment Tonight reports,
Frogmore, which is on the grounds of the queen’s Windsor Estate, has 10 bedrooms and will include an eco-friendly green energy unit as well as two conservatory extensions and extensive landscaping so baby Sussex will have privacy. The couple is really excited about the impending birth. Windsor was the perfect fit for Harry and Meghan. The 10-bedroom house has more space for children when they expand their family and of course has a special place in their hearts.
