Will Middleton and Markle bond over motherhood?

A palace insider believes that Markle’s role as a new mom could provide an opportunity for her to get closer with Middleton. The insider told Us Weekly: “Meghan and Kate will be spending a lot more time together,” adding, “Now that they’re bonding over motherhood, they’ve become closer than ever.”

Middleton and Prince William have three children, Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, who just turned one. Markle and Prince Harry’s first son was born in early May, so it’s likely that the cousins will get together to play, giving the duchesses more time to spend together.

Middleton called Archie’s arrival ‘exciting’

When Prince William and Middleton were asked about Archie’s arrival the day after his birth, the couple were overjoyed by the news. William joked, “I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my own brother into the sleep deprivation society that is parenting.”

Middleton remarked, “Spring is in the air,” adding at the time, “We’re looking forward to
meeting him and finding out what his name’s going to be so, so it’s really
exciting for both of them and we wish them all the best. These next few weeks
are always a bit daunting the first time around.”

Last year, Middleton had commented on Markle’s pregnancy, telling a fan during an appearance at Leicester:
“It’s such a special time to have little kiddies. And now a cousin for
George, Charlotte and Louis as well! It’ll be really special.”

Will Archie’s arrival heal Prince Harry and Prince William’s feud?

It’s also believed the newest royal could help mend the rumored feud between Prince Harry and Prince William, as getting the children together could ease the tension that might exist between the brothers.

A source close to the royal household told PEOPLE: “William and Harry will want their children to know their cousins and do things together, so they will work harder at their relationship. The brothers will have a different kind of relationship and move on.”

Prince William and Middleton have met baby Archie and it’s believed the brothers have been working through their differences. Royal expert Chris Ship explained, “We are told it is slightly better now and we are told they have been having a conversation after Archie was born and they have been into the new house where Harry and Meghan live in Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor estate.”

He added, “A royal aide told me recently ‘we are back on
track.’”

Ship further noted that the brothers “are on different courses,” so perhaps they will never be as close as they once were. He shared: “William is on this course to become king. Harry is on this very different course with his dynamic and different wife who brings something entirely different to the Royal Family.”
