In a new episode of the Borderlands show, Gearbox announced Borderlands 3: Bounty of Blood – A Fistful of Redemption, the game’s third major expansion. Set on the desert planet of Gehenna, players will hunt down a dastardly gang called the Devil Riders, and discover new rewards. Gearbox and 2K will launch Borderlands 3: Bounty of Blood on June 25.
The Devil Riders gang control an army of genetically modified monsters, products of a “long-gone company’s” weapon and biological testing. In Bounty of Blood, players will need to hunt the gang down and save the old-west town of Vestige.
And being a western expansion, players will climb aboard their new, iron steeds to hunt down the Devil Riders. The “weaponized Jetbeast” is a new vehicle in Bounty of Blood, and it looks to be a flying motorcycle with two jet turbines and a monster skull strapped to the front.
Borderlands 3 normally require players to play the main story for the first few hours, and reach the Sanctuary 3 spaceship before they can fly to new worlds. But Bounty of Blood will allow players to level-boost straight into the new add-on. Because of Borderlands 3’s scaling systems, players should be appropriately challenged and get relevant loot no matter when they start their hunt on Gehenna.
Gearbox also promises players that certain decisions they make will impact the lives of the Vestige townsfolk. And it wouldn’t be a Borderlands game without new rewards to reap. Riding the planet of the Devil Riders and helping the townsfolk will net players new Legendary items, skins, room decorations, and more.
