Taylor Swift is having an eventful year. After releasing her latest album, “Lover,” The 29-year-old singer is taking on a new gig: acting as the “Mega Mentor” on The Voice.
Everyone knows about the celebrity coaches who help to run the NBC competition series. But there’s also a role called the Mega Mentor who assists in the show’s Knockout Rounds.
This won’t be Swift’s first time acting as the Mega Mentor. She took on the role in the show’s seventh season as well. But with another album under her belt, contestants will surely be even more eager to gain her input.

The Voice coaches Blake Shelton and John Legend announced the newest Mega Mentor on Monday with an Instagram video.
“I don’t know who it is. I know it’s supposed to be a big star,” Shelton says to Legend. The two are sitting on some couches outside of a gigantic trailer.
“I think the person’s like one of the most successful people in music,” says Legend
“That’s true, but I can’t be because I’m a coach,” says Shelton as Swift exits the trailer in an all-black getup.
“Hey Taylor,” says Legend.
“Heeey Tay,” exclaims Shelton.
As she exits the two realize Swift is, indeed, the next Mega Mentor.

Lots of the show’s fans excitedly commented on the video.
“I love Taylor Swift kids can still listen to her music, without being worried about what they hear,” one Instagram user wrote.
“I’m sooo excited for this,” wrote another fan.
“How exciting! Can’t wait to see how this season plays out!!!” commented another user.
“Well count me in!! My girl will be on the voice!!!” commented another.
Over on Twitter, The Voice and Taylor Swift fans are even more excited.
“@taylorswift IS A MEGAMENTOR ON THE VOICE, THIS IS MY FAVORITE SHOW AND NOW IT JUST GOT EXTRA!!!!!! HOW DOES SHE DO ALL THIS???? AND SHES LIKE THINKING THESE GUYS ARE GOING TO LOOSE THERE MINDS!!! WELL WE DID TAYLOR!!!” tweeted one person.
“I CANT WAIT IM SO EXCITED TO HEAR YOU TALK ABOUT MUSIC AND STUFF,” responded another fan to Swift’s announcement that she’s going to be The Voice‘s next Mega Mentor.
Swift will be joining the rest of The Voice cast, along with Shelton and Legend: Kelly Clarkson and Gwen Stefani.
After Swift’s drama with Big Machine Records aired late June, Clarkson encouraged the singer to re-record her masters. Since then, Swift’s said that she plans to do just that. So the two singers will probably have a lot to talk about during their time on the show together.
