
Long-awaited sequels and exciting new IPs highlight the current 2019 lineup.
2019 follows an extraordinary year in games that featured standouts Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Celeste, and more. While the full picture has yet to come into focus, publishers are looking to carry 2018’s momentum into the new year with a surprising amount of high-profile releases in the first quarter and the promise of more to come throughout 2019.
To give you a better idea of what you can expect, we compiled every game with a confirmed 2019 release date in the gallery below. Click through to see what you have to look forward to in the new year.
(Note: This list doesn’t include games with broad release windows, such as “2019” or “Fall 2019.” Therefore, games like Gears 5, Pokémon for Nintendo Switch, and Respawn’s Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order aren’t listed.)
As you can see, nearly 50 games have already been dated for the new year. Among them are exciting new IPs, like BioWare’s Anthem and FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice; new entries in established franchises, including Far Cry, Metro, and Mortal Kombat; and long-awaited games such as Kingdom Hearts III and Shenmue III.
Factor in the aforementioned games with vague release windows, account for a few surprises, and 2019 is shaping up to be another memorable year for gamers of all platforms.
