The Capcom Pro Tour for Season 3 has finally wrapped up. A new champion was crowned at Capcom Cup 2018 due to their phenomenal plays.

Immediately afterwards, everyone was distracted by the new balance patch and the release of Street Fighter 5’s newest character, Kage. There’s been a lot of new information that needed diving into.

Now that some of the chaos has subsided, we now have an opportunity to review some of the major’s best top eight highlights. The remaining players were Momochi, DNG|Itabashi Zangief, FOX|Justin Wong, RZR|Xian, FD|Fujimura, RB|Bonchan, NASR|AngryBird, and RB|Gachikun.

First, let’s talk about one of Justin Wong’s matches against Itabashi Zangief. Justin Wong was doing work with Menat while Itabashi stuck with his Abigail.

Although Justin Wong was significantly down on life, he was able to very slowly poke away at Abigail’s health bar. With less than 10 seconds remaining, he was able to nab Itabashi Zangief in a combo during a brief moment of impatience.

Notice how Justin Wong opted to go for an EX Soul throw instead of a Critical Art? Great awareness from him as his Critical Art probably didn’t have enough time to dish the damage that he needed.

The Last Nash, Bonchan, put up a good fight but he was not able to fend of Gachikun’s amazing Rashid.

Justin Wong’s strategy is a weird combination of being lame and exciting at the same time. Eventually, Fujimura used his own strategy against him in order to take the set.

Gachikun had to defeat Fujimura in order to proceed to the grand finals. Only one opponent left for Gachikun in order for him to be crowned the winner.

Itabashi Zangief defeated Xian with an impressive comeback. Now he was in the losers finals.

Smart anti-airs from Itabashi Zangief in order to beat Fujimura.

Gachikun spent all his meter to deplete Itabashi’s life bar enough so that he would win the time over. Unfortunately, this only amounted to a waste of meter for Gachikun as Abigail’s 1,075 stamina was just too much.

While Itabashi was able to reset the bracket, Gachikun eventually adjusted and ultimate won the tournament.
