Overwatch fan and artist Antonio Demico has outdone himself with an amazing Lunar New Year skin concept that is absolutely perfect for Widowmaker.
Demico has made a ton of great Overwatch concept art before, most of which can be found on his Twitter page.
The inspiration for his latest piece of art comes from the Chinese Folktale “Legend of the White Snake” (白蛇傳), in which a snake turns into a woman because she falls in love, which Demico thought was kind of the opposite of what happened to Widowmaker and her husband.
For those who don’t know, Widowmaker murdered her own husband after being brainwashed and turned into an assassin by Talon, hence the name ‘Widowmaker’.

The skin might be one of Demico’s best yet, as it’s got all kinds of snakes and scales all over, and Widow herself looks like a white cobra.
Her rifle also got an upgrade, with the same off white and serpent patterns that the skin does, along with a cool-looking cobra stock.
Demico even redesigned Widow’s back tattoo to go along with the snake theme of the skin.

Widowmaker got a Lunar New Year skin called “Black Lily” in 2018, but fans probably wouldn’t mind if she got another, especially if it looked as good as this.
Overwatch’s Lunar New Year event started on January 24 and goes until February 18, which is the Monday after the first weekend of the Overwatch League
Even though Widow (sadly) didn’t get a new skin this year, Demico didn’t let that stop him from creating one of the best Widowmaker skin concepts we’ve ever seen.
