Kim Kardashian West is someone who seems to be in the tabloid every day for pretty much anything. Sometimes people dissect her fashion choices. Other times she is making headlines for happenings in her love life. And ever since her first child was born in 2013, Kim Kardashian has also been the subject of various criticisms regarding her parenting style.
Why some people have a problem with Kim Kardashian’s parenting
Various things Kim Kardashian has done with her oldest daughter North have raised eyebrows. In 2018 alone there were quite a few incidents that internet citizens have become a bit enraged over.
For example, when it comes to how little North (who is turning 6 years old this year) presents herself, Kim Kardashian has been criticized for allowing North to grow up too fast. North has been seen wearing makeup like an adult, having straight hair, and even wearing a bikini.
Some people also did not take well to a photo Kim Kardashian posted on Instagram of her undressing with the caption “by North.”
In addition to these incidents, onlookers have also criticized Kim Kardashian and her husband Kanye West for seeming to neglect their three children. In January 2018, they hosted a movie screening several days after the birth of their youngest daughter Chicago, and people were not having it. Some even accused the couple of choosing to use a surrogate for Chicago’s birth so that it wouldn’t interfere with their social life or Kim’s appearance.
Why do people often like to criticize Kim Kardashian?
Whether one agrees with Kim Kardashian’s parenting or not, it’s hard to deny the fact that internet commenters really do like to nitpick at everything she does. Since there is a fair amount of folks who believe that Kim Kardashian is famous for all the wrong reasons and do not like the fact that she has a large following, naturally, they will want to tear her down as much as possible.
Kim Kardashian being active on social media also doesn’t help. Social media has given many people a chance to voice their opinions, which can be great for social change, though unfortunately, it can also be a place where unfounded rumors are spread and where celebrities get judged for everything they do.
However, Kim Kardashian does not let the negativity get to her. She once shared: “I used to look at everything and anything and have Google Alerts and just get so upset and go home and cry after something mean being said. And now there is nothing anybody can say that can even rattle me.”
Other Kardashian-Jenners have gotten backlash too
Kim Kardashian’s sisters are not immune to the hate and criticisms either. Three of them are mothers themselves and they, too, have been scrutinized for their parenting styles.
Kourtney Kardashian has also been the subject of online judgments when she spent time away from her children. Some people saw it as neglectful, though the oldest Kardashian sister clarified that her kids have days when they are with their father (aka her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick).
Khloe Kardashian, on the other hand, has been criticized for frequently putting a head wrap on her daughter True as well as filtering her face, leading followers to question whether the new mom is ashamed of her child’s natural look.
Finally, the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, 21-year-old Kylie Jenner, has found herself in hot water a few times for piercing her daughter Stormi’s ears only a few months after she was born. Additionally, Kylie also got a new Ferrari last year and people on the internet were quick to point out that it does not have much room for Stormi’s car seat.
The debate is still out on whether these criticisms are valid or just simply folks being too harsh on the Kardashian-Jenners family, but one thing is for sure: the critics are not going away anytime soon.
