Someone built a giant piano in Minecraft Earth – Polygon

YouTuber SethBling “built” a giant piano in a park using using Minecraft Earth, a new augmented reality game for mobile devices. The app is like Pokémon Go, but with Minecraft mechanics. Players walk around, tap to collect resources like wood, stone, dirt, and then use them to build in real-life setting using augmented reality.

There are hardly any restrictions on where people can build. All you need is a flat surface. Gameplay videos show people constructing their creations, and then physically walking through them, as if they were life-size.

The piano in the video is more than life size, it’s giant. It only has 12 keys and it takes up an entire lawn-sized field in a park. In the video, SethBling plays “Mary Had a Little Lamb.” His execution is a little clunky, because of how big it is, but it is impressive nonetheless.

And this is just a taste of what’s to come. The free-to-play game is currently in closed beta access and available to players in Seattle, London, and Stockholm. When the full release rolls out, the game will be playable on AR-capable iOS and Android devices.
