Is it any surprise Netflix viewers are binging the heck out of a trashy crime caper series from the creator of Money Heist?
White Lines is set in Ibiza and follows the sister of a “legendary Manchester DJ” after his body is discovered 20 years after his disappearance. As she begins to investigate his death, she’s drawn into the “thrilling world of dance clubs, lies and cover-ups” “in a place where people live life on the edge.” The show plays out with two timelines: The first following the DJ’s arrival and heyday in Ibiza in the ’90s and the murder mystery of the present day.
The Guardian describes the show as “filled with sex, double-crosses, drugs, DJs, and loads of violence” concluding it is “one crazy, terribly trashy ride” and a “massive amount of fun.” So again, we ask: Is it any surprise White Lines has been binge-watch no. 1 (well, technically, binge-watch no. 4 as of this writing) this weekend?

Short sell: This is the obvious, easy recommendation, as its from the same creator of White Lines and also full of sex, lies and violence in the Mediterranean. The disclaimer here is, of course, that Money Heist is a Spanish-language drama so you either need to understand Spanish, read subtitles or embrace dubbing to make Money Heist your White Lines follow-up.
