One of the most significant events of the year so far was the arrival of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s first child: a son named Archie Harrison. For months, fans around the world were eagerly anticipating the birth of the baby, and couldn’t wait to find out the details.
Before Archie was even born, the news was announced that Meghan and Harry’s baby would not have a royal title. Also, the couple decided to move away from Kensington Palace to the countryside town of Windsor, England, where they intend to give their son a quiet life, away from the high-profile city of London.
All of these signs point to the type of life the newest royal will have. However, let’s take a look at the biggest sign yet that Meghan will give Baby Archie a somewhat normal life.
Baby Archie does not have a traditional royal name

The newborn’s moniker couldn’t be more adorable, yet it is not a traditional royal name. Babies born into the royal family typically have two to three middle names, just like Archie’s father, whose full name is Henry Charles Albert David. Archie, by contrast, has just one middle name – Harrison – making his complete name Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Archie’s first name was completely unexpected, although a pleasant surprise, unlike the traditional royal names given to the children of Kate Middleton and Prince William. Their oldest son, George, is named after his great-grandfather, King George VI, a perfect name for a future king.
Baby Archie is not yet known as a prince
From before they were even born, everyone knew that Archie’s cousins, George, Charlotte, and Louis, would be known as either “prince” or “princess.” Meghan and Harry opted not to give their newborn son a title, at least not until his grandfather, Prince Charles, takes the throne as king. There was some speculation as to whether the new arrival would take the title of “Earl”; however, we found out shortly after his birth that there is no royal title at this time.
Meghan Markle opted for a low-key birth
Although Harry appeared for the cameras briefly on the day his son was born, he and Meghan did not introduce the baby to the world as they emerged from the hospital shortly after his birth. It wasn’t until Archie was a few days old that he made his debut in front of photographers at St. George’s Hall, wrapped in a warm blanket and sleeping peacefully as his proud parents spoke about their first few days as a family of three.
In fact, fans and media didn’t know ahead of time as to where Meghan would be delivering her son, and it was rumored that she was going to have a home birth. It was well-known for months in advance that Kate would be having all three of her children at the Lindo Wing of Saint Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London.

Archie is barely a month old, and there are already several signs indicating he will have a normal, quiet life. The biggest clue that we have gotten so far is the fact that Meghan goes to great lengths to protect her privacy. She is an expert at keeping important details to herself, and she isn’t one to give secrets away.
Meghan has done many things that the public has not found out about until later, such as trips to Los Angeles, and especially details regarding her pregnancy with Archie. All of these signs suggest that Meghan and Harry are going to keep Archie out of the royal spotlight as much as possible, giving him a more conventional life.
