Why Queen Elizabeth ‘Is a Fan’ of Kate Middleton for the Sweetest Reason – Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Kate Middleton continues to win over royal fans, rarely (if ever) making a misstep that the public or media can zero in on and criticize. It appears she’s also got a fan in Queen Elizabeth, which is some pretty high praise, indeed.

Why Queen Elizabeth is a fan of Middleton’s approach

During the Remembrance Day commemoration on Nov. 11, Middleton was seen standing beside the queen and it was evident that the two women are close. One royal source told Vanity Fair why Queen Elizabeth respects Middleton, noting: “The Queen is a fan. Kate is unflappable.”

The source added: “Her mantra is very like the Queen’s keep calm and carry on approach in life, and she has the added benefit of making the Royal Family seem almost normal and in touch.”

Middleton is reportedly having a very successful year, with royal biographer Claudia Joseph noting that the Duchess looks “happy, in control, and there’s a new confidence about her” and is “much happier than a year ago.”

Joseph shared: “She has three lovely children, has been honored
by the Queen for her hard work and is really well-liked not just here but
around the world. She’s very much the girl next door, from how she dresses to
how she behaves and interacts with people on engagements. She is likeable and
relatable and that has made her very popular.”

Middleton is praised for being down to earth

Royal fans have taken note of Middleton’s down to earth nature, with the duchess earning praise after she was spotted looking at Halloween costumes for her children at a local supermarket.

One onlooker told The Sun: “It was lovely to see her just being a normal mum shopping with her kids. I love how she just goes about her normal life, she is so down to earth.”

A royal source shared with The Sun how maintaining normalcy for their children is important to the Cambridges, explaining, “Kate has always wanted the children to live in the real world. She and William don’t want them to live in a gilded bubble. They want them to grow up having the same experiences as other kids.”

What Meghan Markle can learn from Middleton

Given the way Middleton has won over the media, it seems Meghan Markle could learn a few things from her.

Middleton, according to Ingrid Seward, editor of Majesty magazine, has found her way and proven herself over time. She explained to Hello! magazine that Middleton “was given quite a hard time in the beginning, but she has won people over by working hard to do her duty and never putting a foot wrong.”

Markle could definitely look to Middleton for guidance, with a source telling The Sun: “Meghan accepts that she had lost her way and lost her mojo. She knows she needs to take radical action to get the public back on board and allow people to fall for her again just like they did when she started dating Harry.”

The insider explained that “Kate is a huge inspiration” to Markle and “has provided a princess masterclass since she married William, and Meghan realizes she has a lot to learn from her.”

The insider continued: “Kate has been constantly graceful
and elegant — flawless, actually — and has an intuition for how ordinary
British people think and feel about things, which Meghan has struggled to
grasp.”
