Shroud gives first impressions of new PUBG map Vikendi – “It’s still PUBG – that’s the problem” – Dexerto.com

Top Twitch streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has given his initial impressions of the new snow map in PUBG, Vikendi, with somewhat mixed feelings.

The new snow map headlines PUBG’s big winter update, which also coincides with the game becoming available on PlayStation 4.

New weapons like the G36C have been added, as well as a snowmobile vehicle specially made for Vikendi, but shroud still wants “more mechanical changes”.

After playing a couple of games, shroud gave the map itself a glowing review, even saying “I think this is probably the best map they’ve made.”

But, while he had no complaints with the map itself (save for some early performance issues), his main gripe was that it’s “still PUBG”, and “that’s the problem.”

The former CS:GO pro is likely referring to what is often described as a clunky feel to the movement and gunplay, which can feel even more so after playing CoD’s Blackout mode, which many would say is far smoother in comparison.

However, he does compliment the map’s design, highlighting the points of interest, particularly Dino Park, a run-down amusement park area.

“It’s very visually appealing. It runs like shit though, but I’m sure that will get better. And the new vehicle mechanics, on the snow, is really cool too. You can like drift on the snow, the frozen lake, the snowmobiles and stuff, so that’s all cool. But I want some mechanic changing.”
