Xbox Game Pass is already a great subscription service for Xbox One players, but it gets a whole lot better this December. It’s basically Christmas for Xbox Games Pass subscribers this month, just in time for the holidays.
Some of the games on this list are already out on Xbox Game Pass; others will be soon. All of these titles are out before Christmas. There’s a great variety of shooters, strategy games, fighting games and more.
Let’s take a look at the list.
December 4th
- Mutant Year Zero
December 6th
- The Strange Brigade
- Ashen
December 7th
- Mortal Kombat X
- PES19
- Spintires Mudrunner
December 11th
- Kingdom Two Crowns
December 14th
- Below
December 17th
- Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
December 20th
- Ori and the Blind Forest
- Shadow Warrior 2
Some of the highlights here, for me at least, are Mutant Year Zero—a game with a much longer title, but everyone’s calling it this and rightfully so—a turn-based tactical game a la XCOM but with mutant ducks; Ashen, which is a really cool-looking Souls-like I’m itching to play; Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, a fantasy game about mental illness that won a great many accolades back when it was just on PS4; and, of course, Below, a game that was first announced way back when the Xbox One was revealed and has been a question mark ever since.
In any case, lots of great games on this service coming out this month. Certainly enough to keep the average gamer busy without paying more than the $10 the subscription costs. Of course, you’re also most likely paying for Xbox Gold Live. You can see the free games on that service here—though, be warned, they’re not as good as the Xbox Game Pass offerings.
